About the Firm
Ian McDonald Architect PLLC is a full-service architectural design firm focused on contextual residential projects customized to the needs of each client. It is the goal of the office to develop traditional New England style Architecture that meets today’s use and functional needs through a commitment to design excellence and attention to detail. The firm strongly believes that the working relationship between architect and client is what ultimately determines the success of any project. The office’s current projects are located in Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester counties.

Ian McDonald, AIA earned a Masters in Architecture from Syracuse University School of Architecture in 1995 and has since been involved with high-end residential design in New York City and surrounding areas.

He is registered in the State of New York and has memberships in the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Awards
Judged by members of the Boston Society of Architects, the Shelter Island Farmhouse was given the 2004 VIP Award for Best Custom Home Less than 3,000 SF.
